Full Bike Butte Merchandise Line
Don’t kid yourself, you remember your first bike. For me, I had a host of rusty Schwins, scratched and beaten down by my two older brothers, but one stands out from the quiver. It had big ol’ gorilla handlebars, a frame that was so beautifully royal blue that you could see it from across Lake Michigan, and a pearl-colored banana seat. I’m sure it was a mess, but not in my memory. That machine took me miles around the neighborhood, accepted each of my ghosties with grace, and even a few rides off the end of our dock into Kelly lake. Those memories of my dumbassery as a child on two wheels still hold a sacred place in my heart and it’s why I would ride my bike between my computer desk and coffee maker if my house was set up that way.
As my home city, Butte, continues to develop and improve its cycling infrastructure, it’s only fitting that 5518 would come up with some swag to encourage people from here and visiting this town to make those memories themselves. There are loads of incredible trails around town, the Continental Divide Trail can be reached biking from your front porch, and an extensive network of urban trails that include the developing Copper Way Trail that will connect Butte with the city of Anaconda and beyond- over 40 miles. The possibilities are real, and they’re happening everyday here. We’re down with that.
So grab some Bike Butte gear, show off your pride with a bumpersticker, and get out there. There are memories to be made.
